Hi Anne. My technical experience says that the clip should be very tight. I have worked with these many times and when you push the clip onto the bar, before the denture is processed, you would struggle getting it off. The whole purpose of your treatment plan was to "increase the retention of your denture". I don't think you have gotten this. The likely cause is that the clip does not engage the bar. I.e. The denture rests onto your gums before the clip goes down. This is a processing error. Perhaps the clip can be removed from your denture. The denture is then hollowed out significantly and the clip is positioned onto the bar. An acrylic is then inserted directly into the denture and allowed to cure. Care must be taken to block out all the undercuts when this is done. The alternative is to have it go to the laboratory for a reline. If you cannot get a resolution, give us a call. Regards Michael. |
