Thank you for all your questions. Discussing the shape and size of your crowns is most important, as this will have an effect on your new look. The problem that I have faced in my career, before I have started DesignerSmiles, (and this is one of the reasons for starting DS) is that there is a lack of communication between dentist and ceramist. It is not uncommon for the ceramist not to meet with the patient. The end result for me does not stop after the crowns have been completed on the plaster models. This is the norm in most dental laboratories and dentists. The crowns are delivered to the dentist, tried in the mouth, approved by the dentist, approved by the patient, glued in and the patient leaves. The dental ceramist has no idea of what his creation looked like in the mouth. Could the product be improved after try-in? … Yes! Because there are lips, cheeks, skin colour, gum, etc. that are not sent to the dental laboratory. Would the ceramist have noticed that your crowns are too small? …Probably! The point I am making here is that patients should consult with the artists, who make the crowns. It may be a good idea for the artist/ceramist to be present at try-in to make further adjustments if necessary. That’s what our company is all about. Good luck!
